.ROK SERVICE MEDAL MISSION

We have been successful in having a medal awarded for Korea Defense service and we changed the Korea regulations for obtaining combat awards. These were accomplished through dedication and very hard work by all. We have completed half of our mission. We have two fights yet to win to finally complete our mission for recognition. We must still fight for the ROKSM and the UNKM. The membership decision is to pursue the ROKSM first and it is time to start the assault. We will have to fight as hard to be awarded the ROKSM as we did to be recognized with the KDSM. Are you ready for the fight?

We must write, call, fax, email and visit anyone, and everyone, who can influence those decision makers to support our ROKSM effort. We must appeal to the ROK Ministry of National Defense, the ROK Embassy, the ROK Consulates, ROK Industries in the U.S., our legislators, news media, the U.S. Defense Department, and any others that could support this mission. We must pursue these influencers aggressively, professionally, and with determination. We must believe we can win!

Use the ROKSM web page to assist you in your work. We have provided talking points, communications aids, and other supporting information. We will soon attach generic messages to use for contacting those with influence should you feel the need. Most important is that we all understand the supporting information and that we, "Speak with one voice." Let's get the ROKSM!
